One of the Beatles most famous tunes is introduced by way of one of the most talked-about opening chords in history. The exact composition of that opening chord is still shrouded in some mystery, but it’s mostly agreed upon that it’s not just a solitary guitar doing the honours: the entire band contributed to it, giving it a wonderfully dense explosion of sound just before McCartney and Lennon’s voices kick in.

This is quite possibly the quintessential rock and roll song. It’s fast, the lyrics are somewhat naughty, there’s a guitar solo in there, and a lot of the song features screaming.
