Bombastic frenetic cabaret gypsy anarchist punks. A short seqence of words can do no justice to this band. Their latest offering is just more of the same, which is to say that it is yet another amazing recording. You start to get the feeling that they are descending into more poppy territory, with Velocity of Love and Your Younger Man, but Let’s Steal Everything marks them bringing it straight back to their more reckless nature. Of course, you should’ve expected this, given the opening track, Brother of the Mayor of Bridgewater.
They are the type of band who, upon having their power cut, would just come out into the audience and play and dance there where they can be heard better, accordions and horns and all. Even the most unlikely people have come to love their music, so if they’re touring anywhere near your town (and they are out on tour at this precise moment), you would be doing a great disservice to yourself to just hang out at home while they rock the pants off of everyone else.
