Sometimes I am glad we switched to a single song per post format, otherwise I wouldn’t have an opportunity to highlight this one! In case you cannot infer it, I was not particularly enamoured with Universal Audio, but it certainly had some stand-out tunes (notably The City Consumes Us and this track).
There’s something a little sad (the vocals, piano) and a little mean (the drums) in this tune and I guess that’s why I like it. The Delgados are no more, unfortunately, though I’ve yet to hear anything else by them that mirrors the mood of this tune. Oh well!
