I did mention the other day that a post on the Living End would be on its way, so here it is. Ostensibly the Australian Green Day, I’m not entirely sure if such a comparison is meritorious. For one, the Living End tend to play far more interesting and intricate music than Green Day ever do (granted, not a high wall to climb, OOO BURN), and they also wisely steered away from the more irritating traits of what’s now deemed pop-punk (heavily effects driven vocal work, and general sameness in composition). Furthermore, Chris Cheney (lead singer and founder) is a superstar guitarist, which is more than I can say for whoever fronts Green Day these days (DOUBLE BURN).
